Join Coastal Immersions for a transformative week of service, cultural immersion, and intentional learning in the Dominican Republic. This immersive experience brings participants into partnership with local communities through hands-on service projects, cultural exchange, and guided reflection—all while living directly on the beach in Las Cañas.

Location: Las Cañas

Participants will stay in beachfront lodging in Las Cañas, creating space to unplug, build community within the group, and engage deeply with the people and places we are serving. The coastal setting supports both meaningful work and intentional reflection.

Service Projects & Community Partnerships

This immersion includes three primary service-learning projects, each developed in collaboration with local partners and community leaders:

🏥 Cano Dulce – Medical Clinic Construction

Participants will assist in the construction of a medical clinic serving the community of Cano Dulce. This project supports long-term access to healthcare and strengthens local infrastructure. Work may include basic construction tasks, organization of materials, and community collaboration.

🩺 La Grua – Medical Brigade

In partnership with local medical professionals, participants will support a medical brigade in the Haitian community of La Grua. This experience focuses on compassionate service, cultural humility, and learning about healthcare access in underserved communities.

🌱 Brison – Reforestation Project

Participants will take part in a reforestation initiative in the mountain community of Brison, contributing to environmental sustainability and ecosystem restoration. This project emphasizes environmental education, stewardship, and the long-term health of the region.

What’s Included in the Trip Price

  • Beachfront lodging in Las Cañas (shared accommodations)
